What is GRE?

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardised, multiple-choice assessment exam taken by students globally to qualify for the application to graduate and master program universities. The GRE is conducted by the Educational Testing Services (ETS). This exam is used to measure a student’s aptitude and helps universities gauge one’s preparedness for the graduate or master’s program. Although the GRE serves as a stepping stone to one’s educational career and is only one part of the overall application process, all students must take it very seriously.

The GRE measures a student’s abstract thinking in the areas of analytical writing, mathematics and vocabulary. GRE is used as an eligibility criterion for admission by over 1500+ universities abroad, and more than 90 countries accept GRE scores for admission. Some top countries that accept GRE scores are the USA, UK, Canada, Japan, Australia, China, France, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, India, etc. Hence, millions of students in India prepare and appear for these exams a year before they start applying. Understanding GRE Exam

The GRE comprises 3 major sections, which are: Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning. MSIP’s GRE classes in Mansa will provide comprehensive and specialised training to the students for each section. The GRE is divided into 2 sections: Offline exam (Paper-based exam) and Online exam (Computer-based test). The duration of the offline exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes. Whereas the test duration of a computer test is 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Please note the offline exams are conducted only thrice a year. On the contrary, a student can appear for a computer exam at any time of the year. One of the significant differences between offline and online exams is that online exams are section-adaptive. This means that the computer will decide which section will appear next on the screen based on your performance of the previous section.
